Jody Perewitz First Woman to Race Over 200 MPH
While some dream of
getting a land speed record, others stay
awake and do it! And it includes women.
During the 8th edition of the BUB Speed
Speed Trials in Bonneville with no prior
experience of the Utah Salt Flats, Jody
Perewitz with the support of the Team
J’Witz, became the first woman to run
over 200 mph on an American V-Twin
motorcycle.
The ground up custom built by Team
J’Witz is constructed around a Daytec
chassis using Performance Machine wheels
& brakes. The American V-Twin is a 100″
Jim’s Twin Cam assembled at R&R Cycle
using a set of their custom machined
heads and fine tuned by Dan Thayer.
Other components include a HPI 62mm
throttle body, ProCharger, Daytona Twin
Tec ignition system, Baker 5-speed
transmission and a Perewitz/PPG paint
job.
In this class of
bikes, the course in Bonneville is 5.5
miles long with riders having 2.5 miles
to get up to speed, then a mile clocked
by the American Motorcycle Association
(AMA), then 1.5 miles to slow down. On
Jody’s 200+ run she entered the mile
going 199 mph and exited the mile at 205
mph. 203.111 mph was the average speed
in the mile. Jody and her machine were
going 200+ mph for over a mile! Her
motorcycle was using only American made
components. Team J’Witz will be racing
at one more event this year in Maine on
September 17 & 18.

You Asked For It. We Delivered. The FBW is Finally Here.

2/12/10 -Erie, PA-
When Harley-Davidson throttle bodies went to Fly-By-Wire instead of
cable driven, many customers have been waiting for an aftermarket
performance upgrade. After months of testing, HPI has decided
to utilize Harley-Davidson proven FBW stock components, in
combination with our quality manufactured parts. The end
result was an affordable solution for increased bore dimensions and
options for port diameters and extended deck lengths. Through a core
exchange program, we modify the existing stock units, to meet your
specific needs. The stock 50mm FBW throttle body is bored to a
54mm and attached is a custom intake manifold specific to your build
requirements. The stock 58mm FBW throttle body is turned into
a large plenum throttle body through a 62mm intake attachment, once
again specific to your build requirements. Available intake
port diameters are 1.660, 1.710, and 1.800. Extended deck
lengths are raised .032, .060, and a fit to option. Through
these modifications, HPI is able to offer our customers a FBW
throttle body solution that is affordable and unmatched in quality.
Don't settle for copies or imitations of our products. Stick
with the original aftermarket throttle body manufacturer; setting
the standard for others to follow.
Horsepower Inc. is once again the first to offer an upgrade to
Harley's
FBW Throttle bodies.

Taking your stock 50mm to a 54mm then adding a full port and polish.
Also available is a full port and polish for your SE 58mm FBW.
For those looking for an economy build, our Bored Out Stock throttle
body is the perfect choice. We've taken our proven porting
techniques from designing the first throttle body for the V-twin
market and applied our knowledge and porting abilities to the Bored
Out Stock. Our efficiency in the manufacturing process allows
us to offer thee units at an economical price.
Horsepower Inc. introduces an all new Oil Filter Mounting Kit,
manufactured from
Billet 6061 aluminum and polished for a clean look.
Optimized oil passages that flow nearly 30% more than our nearest
competitor, leading to less oil pressure drop for a proven cooler
running bike. Light weight design is engineered for east
fitment. Allows for easy installation with any Jagg or
aftermarket oil cooler. A direct bolt on for 1999 to 2008 twin
cam models.
